Tweed · iPhone, iPad, and Mac
Pins above, tabs below.
Other lives wait in Spaces.
Tweed is a WebKit browser whose chrome is a sidebar: a pin strip you drop sites onto, groups you drag tabs into, and a swipe that changes the whole room. Type a URL, download a file, read the article. The same layout rides in a pocket that you use at a desk.

Sidebar chrome: pin strip, groups, tabs, and the page beside them.
Rooms
A Space is a room. It starts empty.
Each Space has its own pins, groups, and tabs, plus a name and a color. Swipe left or right in the sidebar to switch. A new Space does not copy the last one. Each device chooses which Space it is using, so changing rooms on the Mac does not yank the page under your thumb on the iPhone.
- Swipe to switchAfter a second Space exists, the sidebar itself is the pager. One Space, no pager you do not need.
- This device’s SpaceTweed asks which Space this device should use. You can keep the same room everywhere, or not.
- Archive, then deleteA deleted Space can be restored with its settings, tabs, pins, and groups. Permanent delete is a later, explicit step.
First run
The tour teaches the product.
Tweed does not hide a feature list behind a video. The first-run steps are the chrome: rearrange, pin, group, split, open the library, multi-select on Mac.
Drag to rearrange
Move a tab where it belongs in the sidebar. Order is part of the room, not a hidden preference.
Pin a site
Drop a tab on the pin strip. Pins are a grid at the top, not another row of titles.
Group related tabs
Drop a tab onto a group. Related pages stay together without becoming one mega-tab.
Split the page
On iPad and Mac, drag a tab onto the page. Compare, copy, keep a doc beside the work.
History and bookmarks
One chevron holds both. On iPhone, bookmarks also live in the compact toolbar.
Select several tabs
On Mac, ⌘-click to add another, then group, move, or close the set.
On the page
Still the actual web.
Sidebar chrome is useless if the window cannot be a browser. Tweed loads the address you type, follows HTTP and HTTPS, and keeps the weekday tools next to the page.
- Address and search
- Tap the bar, or ⌘L / ⌘K, then type a URL or a search.
- Reader
- Open Reader from the page menu. Article text, without the rest of the page.
- Translate
- System translation from the toolbar or page menu. Prepare languages in Settings.
- Find in page
- ⌘F, or Find in the page menu.
- Downloads
- Files stay on this device. Open the list to preview, share, or delete.
- Picture in Picture
- Keep a video in a small window while you keep browsing.
- Collector
- Gather images and videos from the current page. Pin the tool to the toolbar if you want it every time.
- Bring bookmarks with you
- Import or export from Settings. HTML, ZIP, JSON, and TXT — including Safari, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Arc exports.
On this device
There is no Tweed login.
Website sign-ins belong to those sites. Optional iCloud uses your Apple ID. Clearing website data is a privacy action, not a factory reset of the rooms you built.
What iCloud can carry
Tabs, groups, bookmarks, and history — including pins. Spaces travel as that furniture.
What stays here
Downloads, settings, and website sign-ins stay on the device. iCloud does not sync them.
What clear does not delete
Clearing cookies, cache, and history in Privacy & Data does not remove Spaces, bookmarks you meant to keep as furniture, or download files.
For people who already run several lives in one browser.
Work, a research sprint, and the personal pile do not want the same cookies. Tweed is for that weekday — on the phone in a queue and on the iPad at a table — not for a single canvas or a single site. If you want Safari’s tab strip, keep Safari. If you want a room you can swipe, this is the layout.
